Empanada Dough


  • 2.5 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tbs sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

  • 8 oz cold butter

  • 1/4 cold vodka
  • 1/4 cold water


  1. Combine dry ingredients
  2. Cut butter into small cubes. Then mix butter into the flour until it has a sandy texture.
  3. Add cold water and vodka then kneed until combined.
  4. Refridgerate dough until ready to use.

Recipe in depth

Very buttery and flakey dough. Work with everything as cold as possible. Not sure what to fill with yet. Possibly make some kind of curry empanadas?
